King Lizard Streaming “Hair Of The Dog” On Sleaze Roxx
October 29, 2012
On November 19th King Lizard will make their triumphant return with ‘A Nightmare Livin’ The Dream’, and SleazeRoxx.com is giving you an exclusive first listen to the track “Hair Of The Dog”.
‘A Nightmare Livin’ The Dream’, being released through Bad Reputation Records, is the follow-up to King Lizard’s 2010 debut ‘Viva La Decadence’. Guitarist Niro Knox tells Sleaze Roxx that, “This album is much better sounding. The material is more mature, its got more ‘metal’ elements and therefore a bit more edge. We put much more effort in this one — we recorded the entire album as a demo first on our own and then went through the songs with the producer. Surprisingly he didn’t change almost anything, just added a few suggestions here and there on some songs that really helped sharpen the material.”
Along for the ride with Knox are vocalist Flash Roxx Sawyer, and a new rhythm section consisting of bassist Lee Benz and drummer Moyano El Buffalo. “When the snare drum comes out of the speakers, you can feel how fucking hard Moyano’s hitting it,” exclaims the guitarist. The band have been recording at London’s Snap Studios with producer Pedro Ferreira (The Darkness, Enter Shikari, Therapy?, Tank) and engineer Adam Crowe.
“We recorded most of the songs live and then added on top of it,” concludes Knox. “Its a very organic recording, as opposed to many modern bands today that use vocal-tuners (auto-tune), drum samples, triggers… we didn’t want that ‘plastic’ million-dollar fake sound.”
