Santa Cruz release video for “Let Them Burn”
Finnish rockers, Santa Cruz, have released a video for the song “Let Them Burn” from their latest self-titled album released earlier this year.
Santa Cruz have the notoriety at Sleaze Roxx of having landed the number one spot in Sleaze Roxx Top Ten Albums of 2013 with their album Screaming For Adrenaline only to fall from grace with a more modern sound with their latest self-titled album.
In awarding the number one album for 2013 to Santa Cruz‘s Screaming For Adenaline, Sleaze Roxx stated: “Santa Cruz did the unthinkable, smashing their way to top spot with their hard-hitting full-length debut Screaming For Adrenaline. With equal parts Skid Row metal mastery and Spread Eagle sleaze, Santa Cruz caught the eye of Spinefarm Records and the ear of every hard rock fan that longs for the return of flowing hair, leather pants and endless alcohol filled nights.”
Sleaze Roxx’s former editor Skid stated the following in his review of Santa Cruz‘s self-titled album: “After naming Screaming For Adrenaline 2013’s Sleaze Roxx album of the year, expectations for Santa Cruz‘s sophomore effort were exceptionally high. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect the follow-up to end up like this — at times an unrelenting evolution, but all too often a colossal disappointment. When press releases stated the Finnish group were distancing themselves from the glam metal approach of their past, I didn’t realize how far they were willing to remove themselves from their previous sound.” Sleaze Roxx concluded by stating: “I have nothing against artists evolving or trying to reach a broader audience, but Santa Cruz takes things to an unwelcome extreme. Not only does this album represent a transformation for Santa Cruz (and with it being self-titled, a new beginning), but it also reeks of bandwagon jumping. To put things into perspective, I probably haven’t been this disappointed in a release since Shotgun Messiah‘s Violent New Breed or Wildside‘s self-titled debacle — luckily the press previews came out early enough to allow me time to cancel my pre-order.”
