Scorpions And Bon Jovi Part Of iPhone ‘Six String’ Guitar Game
March 25, 2010
Six-String is a music game that offers a realistic guitar experience — it actually gives you the feeling that you’re really playing along with the song. Unlike other “guitar-playing” games where you essentially hit buttons, this game takes the genre to a whole new level of realism. Developed in conjunction with the team behind iShred, Six String replicates the experience of plucking, strumming and changing chords — and your performance affects not just your score, but how the song is heard.
Six-String features hit songs by Universal Music Group artists including Bon Jovi and Scorpions. Right now, there’s also a contest! The person with the highest score on the Six-String Hall of Fame leaderboard via the Plus+ Network at exactly 6:00 PM PDT on April 6, 2010 will be eligible to win a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster.
Another huge plus is that Six String’s songs come from the actual studio masters — no more poorly-executed cover versions! The songs included with the game are:
– You Give Love A Bad Name by Bon Jovi
– Runnin’ Down A Dream by Tom Petty
– Thnks Fr Th Mmrs by Fall Out Boy
– Show Me The Way by Peter Frampton
– According To You by Orianthi
– Raised on Rock by Scorpions (off their new album “Sting in the Tail” just released this week!)
20 additional tracks are available for purchase, including songs from Angels & Airwaves, Beck, Dashboard Confessional, G.B.H., Gary Go, Hinder, Hollywood Undead, Kaiser Chiefs, Maroon 5, No Doubt, Papa Roach, Peter Frampton, Rise Against, Robert Palmer, Sum 41, 3 Doors Down and Wolfmother.
Six String can be played in Practice Mode, which lets you get familiar with the song, or Studio Mode, where you can compete, earn points and work up to Six-String’s high-score rankings. Competitive guitarists can log on to the game’s Plus+ Network social community to challenge friends and post scores via Facebook and Twitter.
