Accept Debut “Stampede” Video From Upcoming Album ‘Blind Rage’
June 30, 2014
Heavy metal legends Accept will release their new album ‘Blind Rage’ on August 19th in North America via Nuclear Blast Records. The influential group’s 14th studio album was produced by renowned audio engineer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Napalm Death, Opeth) and is the follow-up to 2012’s ‘Stalingrad’, which debuted at #81 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and was hailed as “brilliant” and a record that “the traditional metalhead will really cherish” by Goldmine.
The first single from ‘Blind Rage’ is the red hot album opener “Stampede”. Accept have premiered a video for the hard-charging track, filmed on location in the high desert of California at the Devil’s Punchbowl (a rock formation that looks like it’s from another world) with director Greg Aronowitz (Batman & Robin, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, The Lost World: Jurassic Park). The “Stampede” video features Accept unleashing blistering heavy metal from the mountaintops against an absolutely amazing natural backdrop and wide-spanning horizon.
“It’s a hard pounding thrash of a song with a riff that has a heart going back to Fast As a Shark,” says Emmy-Nominated production designer and director Dave Blass, who also worked on the out of the ordinary “Stampede” shoot. “Watching the new sun glint off of Wolf Hoffman’s custom silver Framus guitar as he launches into his solo 200 feet in the air above a nasty crevasse made it all worth it.”
Built around the songwriting nucleus of Wolf Hoffmann (guitars) and bassist Peter Baltes, Accept’s beginnings can be traced back to the late 1970’s. The German band played a pivotal role in the development of speed and thrash metal, which emerged in the early to mid-1980’s and along with Judas Priest and Iron Maiden, have delivered an undeniable impact on the global metal scene.
The group has penned an innovative and pioneering body of work and some of the most influential metal albums of all time, including ‘Restless And Wild’ (1982; which included “Fast As A Shark”, the first speed metal song ever put to tape), ‘Balls To The Wall’ (1984; the iconic title track is still the group’s most well known song to date and has become a worldwide metal anthem) and ‘Metal Heart’ (1985). Accept’s premier status as ambassadors of the genre has led to pop culture crossover into film (The Wrestler), television (Justified, Beavis and Butthead) and video games (Grand Theft Auto, Guitar Hero) and threir popularity and status as one of the world’s exemplary heavy metal bands has allowed the band to flourish for decades with no sign of slowing down. The band’s two previous albums — ‘Blood Of The Nations’ (2010) and ‘Stalingrad’ (2012) have charted internationally, topping both critic and fan polls in the process.
Accept will promote ‘Blind Rage’ with a European headlining tour which will kick off on September 19th in Copenhagen, Denmark. Just prior to the Euro tour launch, the band will perform a series of exclusive U.S. live performances including shows in Las Vegas (Sept. 13) and NYC (Sept. 14) as well as a show at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA (Sept. 12) where Accept will be joined by special guests Metal Church and Raven, for what promises to be the most metal of evenings.
In addition to Hoffman and Baltes, Accept features Hermann Frank (guitars), Stefan Schwarzmann (drums) and Mark Tornillo (vocals).
