Alice Cooper Cancels First Gig In 30 Years
May 28, 2011
Rock veteran Alice Cooper was forced to cancel his first concert in 30 years on Thursday after falling sick.
The singer, who is currently on tour in South America, was due to perform in Santiago, Chile but had to scrap the show at short notice.
In a statement on his Facebook.com page, a representative apologized to fans, claiming Cooper was “too ill to even leave the hotel”.
But the rocker is hoping to recover in time for his gig in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Saturday.
A message posted on the social networking blog on Friday reads: “This is Alice’s assistant. I just spoke with Alice, and he said he feels almost 100 per cent better, though a little weak. It looks like the doctors recommended medicine and some good rest did the trick!
“No other shows have been cancelled, and the Buenos Aires show tomorrow night is going on as scheduled. No need to worry about him, he is going to be fine! He thanks the fans in Santiago for understanding.”
