Alice Cooper Names Ozzy Osbourne Living Legend

ALICE COOPER NAMES OZZY OSBOURNE LIVING LEGEND:

July 25, 2008

Many have said that Ozzy Osbourne belongs in a museum and it is finally going to happen.

The former Black Sabbath singer turned reality TV star will be awarded the living legend award this year in the Classic Rock Roll of Honour.

Alice Cooper broke the news of Ozzy’s impending induction today in London.

Ozzy says he can’t wait for the award and that “It’s a great honour”.

Osbourne formed Black Sabbath in 1968 but was fired from the band in 1979 for his unreliability due to drug abuse.

He later went back to the band for a series of reunion concerts.

His solo career kicked off with Blizzard of Ozz in the 70s but his wife Sharon decided to rewrite history by erasing original members Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake from that part of his career. Osbourne re-recorded their album parts with session musicians in recent years and reissued the albums with Daisley and Kerslake.

The Classic Rock Roll of Honour will be awarded to Ozzy in November.
