Armored Saint would like to release new studio album in late 2019
Armored Saint frontman John Bush was interviewed by Jimmy Kay of Canada’s The Metal Voice and spoke about when we can expect a new Armored Saint studio album.
Bush stated: “There is certainly a lot to write about, the way I usually write lyrics that are not about one particular topic. The songs I write have three different meanings running through them. I kind of feel if I am writing about a subject that is about a current time period, then it takes it away from being timeless. So I use metaphors and sometimes puns so there are double meanings. We have demoed five songs for the new album so far. I would like to get a new album out by the later part of 2019.”
In terms of the possibility of Bush touring the Anthrax songs he sang on, the singer stated: “The agent we have has been bugging me about doing this and I finally said I am open minded to doing. I am interested in doing some dates here and some dates there not a full 6 month tour. I have a few artists for this band, guitarist Paul Crook who was part of the recording of two of the Anthrax records (Vol 8 the threat is real, Stomp 442) I did. We shall see I am open to it.”
Armored Saint‘s last studio album Win Hands Down finished at #11 on the Sleaze Roxx Readers’ Top 20 Albums of 2015 to which Sleaze Roxx stated: “La Raza might have been Armored Saint‘s comeback studio album but Win Hands Down is the one that has signalled that the heavy metal group is back to its hard hitting ways. Sleaze Roxx readers have responded by having Armored Saint figure in its top 20 albums for the first time in its career. With singer John Bush firmly back in the line-up, Armored Saint came up with the type of album that could rival their best albums from their ’80s / early ’90s heyday. Filled with energy and power, Armored Saint‘s Win Hands Down is the type of release that is not for the faint of heart. It will be interesting to see how Armored Saint follow up Win Hands Down because the heavy metal group surely has gained and silenced a lot of critics with its latest album.”
