Black Stone Cherry Release “Me And Mary Jane” Single

February 24, 2014

Roadrunner Records recording group Black Stone Cherry have released “Me And Mary Jane”, the first single from their upcoming fourth studio album ‘Magic Mountain’. The album will be released on May 6th with pre-orders being announced shortly.

Bassist Jon Lawhon says of the new album, “A lot of rock music today doesn’t have any soul. It’s all really bland. There’s no attitude. There’s no heart. We all grew up on ’70s rock, Southern rock, country music and bluesmen like Robert Johnson and Muddy Waters. On this album, more so than ever, those elements are all in the forefront.”

Produced by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden), ‘Magic Mountain’ sees the band continuing to master their sound which has earned them legions of fans around the world, with sales now in excess of 650,000. In the UK, Black Stone Cherry have proven a phenomenon, topping the Rock Albums chart with both 2008’s ‘Folklore And Superstition’ and 2011’s ‘Between The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea’ receiving silver sales certification from the British Phonographic Industry.

Known around the world as an electrifying live act, Black Stone Cherry will hit the road hard in support of ‘Magic Mountain’, including a string of dates supporting Seether which kick off on April 22nd at The Varsity Theatre in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In the meantime, the Kentucky-based band will introduce the album to their many fans in the United Kingdom via a series of intimate — and already sold out — live performances dubbed -The Southern Hospitality Tour-. Set for late February/early March, the dates will see Black Stone Cherry creating each evening’s set list from a list of fan requests, guaranteeing every night’s performance will be completely unique.
