Bobby Blotzer feels Ratt “always crushed” Mötley Crüe musically but got less press

Former Ratt drummer Bobby Blotzer was recently interviewed by Troy Patrick Farrell (Angels In Vein, ex-White Lion) for the This, That & The Other podcast.

Blotzer was promoting Ratt’s box set The Atlantic Years 1984-1991 which will be released on vinyl on June 9, 2023. He also spoke about a variety of other topics including a possible Ratt reunion with the remaining classic line-up members — lead vocalist Stephen Pearcy, guitarist Warren DeMartini and bassist Juan Croucier — to which he indicated (as provided by the This, That & The Other podcast): “If it doesn’t happen with this release, it could happen in 2024 as it’s too late in the year to mount a tour.” Blotzer added: “Next year is 40 years since [Out of The] Cellar came out.” He concluded: “I feel it’s inevitable, the fans want to see this outfit one more time out there.”

As far as Mötley Crüe is concerned [with guitarist Mick Mars‘ allegations that some of the band members were using backing tracks during last year’s The Stadium Tour], Blotzer indicated: “Ratt‘s always crushed Mötley musically.” He added: “They got more press, movie stars, explicit sex, murders and shit, always in the magazines.”
