BON JOVI DENIES RUN FOR GOVERNOR:
November 14, 2007
Rocker Jon Bon Jovi has denied reports he is planning on following Arnold Schwarzenegger into politics by running for governor of New Jersey. The Living On A Prayer hit maker fueled speculation of a career change by hiring public relations guru Ken Sunshine – who was once chief of staff for former New York major David Dinkins.
Bon Jovi also insisted on keeping his house in Red Bank, New Jersey, even though he and his family have moved to Soho, New York, prompting rumors he was hoping to run for office in the state. The singer regularly performs at fund raisers for high profile Democrats including Al Gore and John Kerry.
But Sunshine, insists Bon Jovi won’t be giving up his music anytime soon.
He tells the New York Post’s gossip column PageSix, “Jon has been approached many times about running for office. His day job is going too well, and this way he can keep the house.”
