BON JOVI HELPS KICK OFF NFL’S 2002 SEASON IN TIMES SQUARE:

Bon Jovi will help the National Football League kick off its 2002 season on Sept. 5 with a performance in New York City’s Times Square.

The group’s performance will be part of a day of music and football-related festivities to launch the new season, which starts with the San Francisco 49ers playing the New York Giants at Giants Stadium. Bon Jovi will perform “Everyday,” the first single from its new album Bounce (due Oct. 8), during halftime of the game and at a Times Square celebration. Enrique Iglesias is also slated to perform, and more artists will be announced shortly.

VH1 will telecast the performance live from 7-8 p.m. ET and again on Sept. 7, while sister station MTV will air highlights during Total Request Live on Sept. 5.
