Bon Jovi To Pay Fine For Overexuberant Fan
BON JOVI TO PAY FINE FOR OVEREXUBERANT FAN:
Bon Jovi is bailing out an overexuberant fan who attended the group’s free acoustic performance in Australia on Friday (December 13).
The band was playing on a barge in Sydney’s Darling Harbour when three fans, a man and two women, jumped into the water and began swimming towards the group. The women got out of the water when the security staff asked them to do so, but the 32-year-old man swam all the way to the stage, where Jon Bon Jovi himself helped him out of the water.
Police arrested the man and said he’d probably be charged and fined, but Bon Jovi has agreed to foot the bill. “We’re gonna pay his fines,” Bon Jovi told reporters on Saturday (December 14), before the group played at the Rumba Festival. “We’ll deal with it for him.”
The authorities, however, didn’t think much of the offer. “The laws are there to protect your safety along with the safety of others. Young revelers shouldn’t be encouraged by anyone to break the law,” a police spokesman said.
