Brian Johnson states that he had “great run” with AC/DC and was going by muscle memory at the end

Former AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson was interviewed by The Sunday Times Driving with the article posted on January 23, 2018.

Back in March 2016AC/DC had to postpone their upcoming North American tour in support of their Rock Or Bust album due to Johnson facing the risk of undergoing “total hearing loss” if he proceeds with the tour.

After a lot of speculation on who would be the new singer for AC/DC, the band eventually forged ahead with Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose handling the lead vocals.

Johnson advised The Sunday Times Driving:

“On stage it was getting harder and harder to hear the guitars, even hear the keys, and I was basically going on muscle memory. And I’m not the kind of guy who likes to cheat. The way I look at it, I had a great run.”

Johnson‘s comments seem to suggest that the singer will not return to front AC/DC in the future.
