With more and more groups seemingly or allegedly playing “live” to pre-recorded tracks, it is nice to know that at least one band intends on actually playing live. The Dead Daisies just embarked on their A Decade of Rock Tour today (on August 22, 2023) with their opening night at Mickey’s Black Box in Lititz, Pennsylvania, USA.
The following message was posted on Tichy‘s Facebook page earlier today:
“Hey! All you rock freaks that like live rock shows where not a dang thing is on tape, and what you came to see and hear is only gonna be that exact way one time. You know, kind of like how it used to be when the greatest bands of all time played live and it was simply assumed that since it’s a live rock show, they are going to be live… you know, bands that even though they may have had many overdubs and layers on their records, still came to your town and delivered as best they could as the 4-5 guys they were.
… And the drummer doesn’t even have a reference click, because the band expects him to do his job, which is to keep solid time as if his life depended on it, and considering that’s the thing he’s put the most time into his whole life and one would assume if he’s called a professional drummer, he should at least be in the ballpark, maybe even in the right position, The Dead Daisies tour starts tomorrow…

Ok! I lied! We do have show intro music that’s prerecorded! “
