British all-female rock group Häxan release lyric video for “Breaking Down The Walls”

All-female rock group Häxan have released a lyric video for their song “Breaking Down The Walls.”

Häxan‘s Facebook bio states in part:

“Häxan are an all girl rock band from South Wales, formed by sisters Sam and Charlotte Bolderson. The girls grew up with a passion for classic rock and live music from an early age. In their teenage years, they started learning how to play the guitar and drums. After taking such a keen interest in music, it was a natural move to start playing music together. They found a local female bassist and the trio started performing in pubs and clubs around Wales.

The girls quickly made a name for themselves gigging locally, winning various band competitions, and were even selectively invited to perform with the Welsh National Opera in a one off exclusive show. Word soon spread, and they were asked to perform abroad. This lead to bigger and better things. As the venues and crowds increased in size, the fan base became more significant, in Europe and the UK. Following this, the girls worked harder, and their confidence and ability grew.

In March 2012, Häxan welcomed new bassist Harriet Wadeson into the band. She brought energy and instantly clicked with the girls, leading what proved to be their most productive and exciting year yet.

This was then topped by 2013, which saw the girls release a debut 6 track EP, which has been described as fresh, yet with a classic rock twist, influenced by artists such as AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Suzi Quatro and Joan Jett. Dressing head to toe in leather and lace, the classic rock era is clearly a huge inspiration, and performances always pack a punch.

Häxan also secured support slots with Electric 6, Saxon and Dr Feelgood to name a few.”

In March 2016, the group changed its name from The Kix to Häxan with the following explanation on its Facebook page as a reply comment on one of its posts: “‘Kix‘ is also already a band, hence the reason behind changing the name.”
