C.C. DEVILLE MAKES APPEARANCE ON NEW MOTORHEAD ALBUM:

July 22, 2008

Tjames Madison of LiveDaily reports that Motorhead has mapped out a North American tour behind the metal vets’ forthcoming 20th studio album, “Motorizer,” which hits store shelves next month.

The iconic speed-metal trio will mount the headlining run following its participation in next month’s Metal Masters Tour, which finds the band and fellow metal acts Judas Priest, Heaven & Hell and Testament kicking off a 19-city run Aug. 6 in Camden, NJ.

Following the completion of the multi-act “Masters” run, Motorhead will launch its own trek Sept. 2 in Anaheim, CA, hitting 13 cities during the waning days of summer. Dates for both tours are included below.

The band worked this spring in Los Angeles with producer Cameron Webb to produce “Motorizer,” the 20th official Motorhead studio album and first since 2006’s “Kiss of Death.”

“It’s better than [2004’s] ‘Inferno,’ and ‘Inferno’ seems to be the favorite of the later years so far,” said the band’s seemingly indestructible frontman, Lemmy Kilmister, in a posting on Motorhead’s official website. “It’s got better songs. Better arrangements and a better performance from me vocally, and a better performance from Phil Campbell on the guitar, he plays great on the songs.”

Posion guitarist C.C. DeVille and Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez both make guest appearances on the album, which is due in stores Aug. 26 in the US.

“I said to Mike: ‘Do you wanna play on the album?’ And he said: ‘Sure.’ He was all excited, you know, and he came down the next night, and he nailed it in about three takes, I think. It was really good, and CC did it in one take.”
