Call of The Wild UK Festival’s 2020 edition featuring Reckless Love postponed to May 2021

Another rock festival in 2020 has been postponed due to the ongoing worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. This time, it’s the Call of The Wild Festival in the UK, which has decided to postpone its 2020 edition to May 20 to 23, 2021. The Call of The Wild Festival had already been rescheduled from May 29 to 31, 2020 to September 18 to 20, 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The following message was posted in part on Call of The Wild‘s Facebook page earlier today:

“When you’ve felt the full force of the sea; crashing through continuous waves that batter your body first and slowly disorientate your mind, one minute there’s solid sand beneath your feet, then the next it’s gone, and you need every ounce of energy to push yourself onto the calmer waters you see ahead. You dig deep and swim as hard as you can to arrive in that calm peaceful part of the sea. You look up at the bluest sky and feel a moment of tranquility, almost nirvana. Your eyes are still a little stingy from the salt but it’s a small price to pay to overcome such a momentous challenge. You take a deep breath and look back to shore where all your friends are cheering you for successfully overcoming that exhausting challenge. You take a deep breath and feel great to be alive.

Then you see your friends’ body language change. The happy cheers now sound like panic and they’re pointing hard to something behind you. You quickly spin around and stare in utter disbelief as the wave racing towards you seems to touch the sky. The sea is black and only the darkest shadow looms over you and you know that no matter how hard you swim into this one, all the fighting and screaming won’t save you… this one is taking you under

It has been a hell of a journey and we have fought tooth and nail to bring Call of the Wild Festival to life in 2020. We all needed it, right? But, sadly, the most recent developments have now forced our hand to postpone Call of the Wild Festival to May 2021

Some may say we were foolish to even try and go ahead in September. But many more were right by our side as we faced and overcame the many challenges that arose from this pandemic.

The sudden concern of a second wave and with Reckless Love, as much as they desperately want to come to the festival, not permitted to fly from Finland to the UK. Several other bands on the bill are now also unable to attend due to local lockdowns in their area. There is an increasing fear by many of our most loyal supporters who feel they still must keep themselves in a very safe environment, and we fully respect and endorse that choice.

Everyone’s health and safety is paramount in all of our decisions as we try to navigate COVID-19 and the many issues we face daily are subject to change imminently.

We sincerely apologise to everyone we have disappointed. We hope you can accept and fully understand our decision at this late stage.

We are still swimming hard against the current and we are by no means finished fighting… Call of the Wild Festival 2021 (or COTW 2in1 as we’ve affectionately called it) will be between 20 – 23 May. We have added a full additional day that everyone who holds onto their 2020 weekend tickets can attend (no extra cost to you).

We are also absolutely delighted to confirm that Ricky Warwick and The Fighting Hearts will headline the new Southall Lawless Stage on Friday night & Tigertailz will headline it on Saturday night. This stage is identical to our Kilmister stage and they will now sit side by side.

On top of the many other new bands that we will announce within our full line up on Friday 14th August we are so damned excited to announce right now that Swedish rockers Junkyard Drive will perform on our Thursday.

Tickets will freeze today…. with the 2021 tickets going on sale on Friday. If you already have your ticket and wish to come in May, then you don’t need to do anything.

Earlybird 2021 – Full weekend: Friday-Sunday £79
Thursday Bolt on – £30
VIP upgrade – £40 (only 50 available due to earlier allocation Sold Out)

Payment Plan for Tickets & Hotel packages will also be available from Friday.

Full refunds will be honoured between Monday 17th August to 31st August. It is imperative that if you require a refund that you request it within this period.

All refunds will be processed within 30 days from the request deadline date.

We understand that with so much going on that it’s not always easy to grasp the information so we have FAQs below that will hopefully cover everything you need to know.

Please think carefully before you decide to ask for a refund. As much as you’re helping us tread water in rocky seas, the added incentive to hold on to your booking for 2021 is so worth it!”
