Canada’s Rock N Rumble Music Festival cancelled with only 32 tickets sold over three main days

The inaugural Rock N Rumble Music Festival was to take place at The Moose And Goose in Thorold, Ontario, Canada over four days from September 1 to 4, 2022 and it featured a large number of Canadian bands including Helix, the Darcy Mills Project, Anvil, the Pat Travers Band and the Killer Dwarfs. Unfortunately, the festival has been cancelled with a reported measly 32 tickets sold over the three main days. The Moose And Goose venue has a reported capacity of over 750 people.

The Rock ‘N Rumble Music Festival was organized by Rose City Sports & Entertainment Inc., which was run by the same person who organized the inaugural Hair In The Fair Rock Festival that was supposed to take place in Welland, Ontario, Canada from July 11 to 13, 2019. The Hair In The Fair Rock Festival ended up getting cancelled about one week prior to its start date which led the formation of a private Facebook group called Rock The Roses is trying to bend me over, which seemed to mainly consist of people discussing the difficulties in getting refunded for the cancelled festival. Rock The Roses reportedly ended up going bankrupt.

The line-up for the Rock ‘N Rumble Music Festival had undergone some changes with the addition of a “pre-party” night on Thursday, September 1st and Circus of Power pulling out of the festival. Although Rose City & Sports Entertainment Inc. has posted on Facebook that the Rock N Rumble Music Festival has been cancelled (see below), it is still being advertised as follows on The Moose And Goose‘s website:

Thursday, September 1st:
John Corabi (Former Mötley Crüe Singer)
Russ Dwarf (Killer Dwarfs)
Darren Smith (Red Dragon Cartel/Harem Scarem)
Sierra Levesque (Opening Band)
+ All Star Jam Session Finale

Friday, September 2nd:
Helix (Final Band)
Wild T & The Spirit
Darby Mills Project
Bill Durst
ZedHead
Jailbirds (Opening Band)

Saturday, September 3rd:
Anvil (Final Band)
The Rods
Fist
Resist & Bite
Rebel Few
Redcoat

Sunday, September 4th:
Pat Travers Bands (Final Band)
Killer Dwarfs
Teaze
Anthony Gomes
LaChinga
Micheal White (Opening Band)

The only seemingly good news about the cancellation of the Rock N Rumble Music Festival is that all of the ticket purchasers will seemingly be able to get a full refund.

The following message was posted on Helix‘s Facebook page yesterday:

“Just so everyone knows: Got an email from promoter Don Marinucci this morning informing me that the ROCK N RUMBLE show Sept. 2nd in Thorold has been cancelled. Here’s the email:

Rock N Rumble Members:

It isn’t by any stretch a decision that wanted to be made but with the delay in this funding that has everyone stretched out combined with the terrible pre event ticket sales that have not changed in weeks cancelling this festival is the ultimate decision. To have a collection of talent draw up these ticket sales is mind boggling with all the marketing out there.

Thursday 17 tickets (mostly free)
Friday sold 8 Tickets
Saturday sold 10 Tickets
Sunday sold 14 tickets

All ticket holders will receive a full refund via Ticketscene.

Thank you to all involved. Wish you all the best of luck in the future.

Stay safe.

Sincerely,

Don Marinucci
