Chris Hager and Dave Alford to forge ahead as Rough Cutt with new band members

After retiring the band Rough Cutt and forging ahead with the new group Rough Riot, guitarist Chris Hager and drummer Dave Alford have had a change of heart and will now be continuing under the band name Rough Cutt with some new band members. Their former Rough Riot band members — guitarist Carlos Cavazo, lead vocalist Paul Shortino and bassist Sean McNabb are moving ahead as Rough Riot or perhaps Carlos Cavazo’s Rough Riot (as the band’s Facebook page indicates).

The following message was posted by Hager on his Facebook page yesterday (with slight edits):

“Hey, hey my friends!! Here’s the scoop: Rockin’ Dave Alford & I have decided to keep the Rough Cutt lineage alive & kickin’ ass, and want to introduce the new lineup, featuring former Motown recording artist (and bandmate), Mr. Steven St. James on vocals! Low-end to be handled by bass player extraordinaire, Jeff Buehner, and second guitarist, TBA Upcoming shows, TBA as well!! Naturally we’ve also written new music we think you’re going to f**king love!! And, of course, we’ll be playing the classics as always!! ??

Last, but not least, we wish to extend our very best to our long-time former Rough Cutt band-mates, along with our Rough Riot bruthas as well… We see this as a win-win for all involved as the more great music that gets released, the more everyone benefits, and the better for rock music as a whole…!!”
