Chris Holmes states that if you like W.A.S.P.’s debut album, you’ll like his new EP ‘Under The Influence’

Former W.A.S.P. guitarist Chris Holmes was recently interviewed by Duke TV and spoke about his new upcoming EP Under The Influence that will be released in December 2018.

Holmes advised (as transcribed by Sleaze Roxx): “We’re in Cannes [France]. We’re in a recording studio recording the songs for my EP that’s going to be coming out. We’re going to do one EP this year. It will be out in December and the full album will be out in December of next year. And as you see, we’re doing it in a proper studio, other than how “I’ve recorded the last previous projects you know? I’ll say if you like the first W.A.S.P. album, you’ll like this record kind of, ’cause it’s raw. It’s not… It’s just mainly guitar. You know [inaudible] it’s not over produced. I didn’t add anything in it. I just did some good rock n’ roll music you know?”

Holmes added: “It’s just that I’m three to four years older [laughs]. I’ve learned a lot about singing lately. You know, putting words together and stuff like that. I’ve got more experience now you know? The lyrics are you know just things that I’ve done in the past. There’s one song called “The Devil Made Me Do It.” It’s about drinking and driving saying the devil made me do it and all these stupid things. It’s about reality. It’s not about the cosmos…. It’s the signature stuff that I write you know? It’s just the way that I play guitar you know. You take that element out… If I could sing like [W.A.S.P. frontman] Blackie [Lawless], it’d be exactly like the first and second W.A.S.P. albums but it’s not. I don’t sing like him you know?”
