Chris Laney Leaves Randy Piper’s Animal

February 18, 2009

Chris Laney has announced that has left Randy Piper’s Animal, the band created by and named after the former W.A.S.P. drummer. Chris posted the following message at

“Dear Animal Fans!!!

I want you to hear it from me first… I have left Animal… It is not easy to keep a band up and running when you live on different parts of the planet. We did manage to put out two great albums within 4 years, and recorded a DVD that hopefully will see the light of day.

My time in ANIMAL has been FANTASTIC!!! Piper, Rich, Grizzly and Koleberg are my brothers, and will always be!!

I will now concentrate 100% on doing my solo stuff, starting it off with the relase of CHRIS LANEY – PURE march 27, and on my work as producer at Polar Studios. I thank Rich & Randy for all the great times we had and wish them all the best in their future work with Animal, they are the original members after all.

All I can say is, this is The Morning After…when all is said and done…

Love you guys,
Chris Laney
