Confess plan on recording new album in 2018

Confess frontman John Elliot was recently interviewed by The New Wave of Hair Metal‘s senior admin Tom.

Elliot advised about how guitarist Pontus joined the band as he stated: “Ludwig used to play with Pontus in another band before he joined confess. He recommended him and we tried him out and it worked instantly. Pontus has actually been in the band close to a year now, we just waited with the announcement til we had all that record company stuff out of the way. So we’ve been writing songs and rehearsed together for a while now.”

In terms of the differences between Confess‘ albums Jail and Haunters, Elliot stated: “Well, when we wrote Jail, we were a lot younger and hadn’t really found what we we were looking for musically. We tried out different stuff and just released it, Didn’t think much about it. Haunters was a more thought through album with more attention to details + we felt that we couldn’t do a “jail part 2” even if we wanted to. The sound of that album really came from 5 young guys that had no experience.”

With respect to whether there are any plans to record in 2018, Elliot advised: “We have a shit load of new songs. This time we really wanna write as much as possible and then pick the best of the fucking best. I think the next album is going to be really different from both jail and Haunters. We’re planing on recording in 2018, yes. But as usual something can come between and it gets pushed forward. Good thing tho, we built our own studio so we can actually record whenever we want to.”
