Covid has created a huge level of anxiety for Spread Eagle singer Ray West
Spread Eagle and Weapons of Anew lead vocalist Ray West was recently interviewed by Rob Loiacano for All Music/All Bands‘ Facebook page.
West was asked about the impact of the worldwide Covid pandemic on himself, his family and music career to which he candidly replied (with slight edits):
“Covid has created a huge level of anxiety for me. I worry about my family’s safety all the time. My boy is 17, so naturally I fear for his general safety every second of everyday. Because I’m a hypochondriac, if someone in my family coughs I get a bit cooky. It’s definitely affected the touring aspect of my career choice. In this business you need to be actively out pressing the flesh “so to speak”.”
In terms of how he is doing, West indicated: “I am doing well , thank you for asking. I feel healthy , as does my family. I think it’s safe to say, we are doing our due diligence, to stave off Covid-19 in our house.”
With respect to whether there has been any writing for a new Spread Eagle album to follow Subway To The Stars, West stated: “Yes ,there has been writing, because I spoke to Rob [De Luca] some months back, and he was on his way to Ricky‘s studio to do some work. I imagine we will get together in the new year and make things happen. Writing is an easy task with Spread Eagle.”
