Crashdiet Added To Sweden Rock Festival
January 25, 2011
Crashdiet, who recently topped the Sleaze Roxx Top 10 of 2010 with their album ‘Generation Wild’, are the latest band to be announced to the Sweden Rock 2011 festival. Sweden Rock 2011 will take place June 8 to 11th at Solvesborg, tickets to the festival are now available and can be purchased at www.swedenrock.com.
Crashdiet’s debut ‘Rest in Sleaze’ (2005) put the New Wave of Sleaze on the Swedish media-map. Some time later tragedy struck when vocalist Dave Lepard committed suicide. And his replacement Olliver Twisted turned out to be wrong for the band and exited following the second album ‘The Unattractive Revolution’ (2007). However, Crashdiet refused to give up. They found sensational front man Simon Cruz and released last year’s ‘Generation Wild’ – a knock-out comeback and a big success on the band’s home turf. Crashdiet will now return to SRF with renewed vigor, as one of Sweden’s hottest bands once more.
Confirmed bands so far (out of a total of around 70):
Judas Priest – last show ever in Sweden
Whitesnake – with very special guests
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
Rhapsody of Fire
Jason & the Scorchers
Dan Reed Band
