Danger Danger’s Ted Poley Announces New Solo Band Drummer
August 7, 2011
Globe-trotting Danger Danger frontman Ted Poley is thrilled to welcome new addition Xenon drummer Tony Capobianco to his current solo band line-up.
Longtime friends, Poley and Capobianco have a musical history together that spans two decades. The legendary relationship stems back to the days when Poley rocked with Xenon: contributing backing vocals to their debut CD ‘America’s New Design’, released in 1989.
Poley proudly commented, “Tony is one of my all-time favorite drummers. Not only is he a long time friend and NJ homeboy, but I know he will take us to eleven. Xenon is one of the best groups out there. Those guys are like family to me, so I am very excited–and happy–to finally get to do some live work with Tony.” The rest of the group is rounded out by Maz Mazza (lead guitar), Paul LaPlaca (keyboards, guitar, background vocals) and Doug Odell (bass, background vocals).
Exciting things are happening for Poley. In addition to Capobianco’s joining the band, there is a mid-September tour scheduled to take place in Scandinavia. He has also enjoyed a surge of cyber buzz on the web. In celebration of his first-ever digital only single, Poley masterminded a music video for his cover of Michelle Branch’s song “Breathe”. Since premiering on YouTube, the story-driven clip has garnered almost 11,000 views within the first month.
