Dead Levee’s upcoming EP to be co-produced by Garth Richardson and The Lazys frontman Leon Harrison
Western Canadian rockers Dead Levee consisting of lead guitarist Rylan Klapatiuk, drummer Preston Laschuk, rhythm and slide guitarist Rylan Dusyk, lead vocalist Dane Von Hagen and bassist Tayler Morgan will have their upcoming EP co-produced by world renowned Canadian producer Garth Richardson and The Lazys frontman Leon Harrison.
The following message was posted in part by Harrison on Bandwagon‘s Facebook page earlier today (with slight edits):
“Bandwagon is STOKED to welcome Garth Richardson and announce he will be producing DEAD LEVEE’s EP next month at his Vancouver studios! This is a major step for the band and one that came about through hard work and sheer persistence. Throughout Garth‘s career, he has worked with the likes of RATM, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nickelback and many more! To say the band’s excited is an understatement!!! Co producing will be @the.australian.dreamer from The Lazys and engineering will be Ben Erikson Producer/Mixer! Bring it on “
Wikipedia summarizes Richardson‘s career as follows (with slight edits):
“Garth “GGGarth” Richardson is a Canadian record producer and music engineer. He is the son of music producer Jack Richardson (Alice Cooper, The Guess Who, Badfinger, Poco), a pioneer of the music recording industry in the 1960s and 1970s. Garth Richardson has done music engineering work for the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, and Mötley Crüe, and produced for Kittie, Biffy Clyro, Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Melvins, Shihad, Kensington, and many others. He cofounded the Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver, British Columbia together with Bob Ezrin and Kevin Williams. The school was named after Richardson‘s father’s production company, Nimbus 9, and offers courses in production, recording, and audio. Richardson has the nickname ‘GGGarth‘ due to his mild stutter.”
The Lazys‘ last studio album Tropical Hazards finished at #1 on the Sleaze Roxx’s Top Ten Albums of 2018, #5 on the Sleaze Roxx Readers’ Top 20 Albums of 2018 and #2 on the Sleaze Roxx’s Top 12 Albums of the Decade (2010-2019).
