Def Leppard release video for song “We All Need Christmas”
Def Leppard, who will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2019, have released a video for their Christmas song “We All Need Christmas.”
Back in early November 2018, Def Leppard provided the opportunity for fans to participate in their current video as the following message was posted on the group’s Facebook page at that time:
“We All Need Christmas… and we all want YOU to celebrate with us.
Post a video set to the entire song lip-syncing the lyrics to We All Need Christmas. Your video will be featured in a special Def Leppard gallery or on our social media! Head over to WeAllNeedChristmas.com for all the info.”
The Def Leppard UK website has the following information about the song “We All Need Christmas”:
“‘We All Need Christmas’ is listed only as a bonus digital and seven inch single track on various editions of the album [The Story So Far: The Best of Def Leppard].
It has been released today to streaming and download services with a new promo video to follow soon.
Written by Rick Savage and produced by Ronan McHugh.
The (sort of) second Christmas song to be recorded by Def Leppard but the first to be released.
In the run up to the 2014 Slang Deluxe Edition album Vivian revealed Vivian said the band had recorded a song called ‘Heavy Metal Christmas’ in late 1995.
This turned out to be the music from ‘All On Your Touch’ which had new lyrics written and recorded by Joe in 2012.
The joke ‘Christmas’ song actually had no lyrics at first and wasn’t really a Christmas song at all.”
