Desmond Child Raising Funds For The Marketing Of ‘TWO’ Documentary

September 11, 2013

Grammy winning songwriter and producer Desmond Child is raising funds to help reach the distribution and marketing goals of his new documentary ‘TWO: The Story Of Roman & Nyro’ at Kickstarter.com. The film follows Child and his lifelong partner’s loving journey to create their new modern family.

‘TWO: The Story Of Roman & Nyro’ documents the 12-year journey of Desmond Child and his lifelong partner Curtis Shaw, and the extraordinary way they met and connected with Angela Whittaker, the woman who would carry their twin sons, Roman and Nyro, into the world. From preconception through the boys’ first 10 years, TWO is the personal and powerful story of these unique individuals whose lives become inextricably woven together in magical and unexpected ways. TWO is testament to the universal power and ultimate triumph of love — that it is love that makes a family, affirming modern families may be modern in their making, but timelessly human at their core.

Desmond Child is one of music’s most accomplished hitmakers, having written and/or produced over 70 Top 40 singles with 300 million albums sold worldwide. In 2008 he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame and in 2012 he co-founded the Latin Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Some of Child’s most successful hard rock collaborations include Bon Jovi’s “You Give Love A Bad Name”, “Livin’ On A Prayer” and “Bad Medicine”, Aerosmith’s “Dude Looks Like A Lady” and “Angel”, KISS’ “I Was Made For Lovin’ You”, “Heaven’s On Fire” and “Let’s Put The X Into Sex”, Alice Cooper’s “Poison” and “House Of Fire”, Ratt’s “Lovin’ You’s A Dirty Job”, Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself For Loving You”, and countless others.

For the past twelve years, ‘TWO: The Story of Roman & Nyro’ has been 100% self funded. In 2011, TWO began its two-year directorial and editorial journey to becoming a feature film, encompassing over three hundred hours of footage ranging from 16 millimeter home movies from more than 50 years ago to current hi-def interviews with all of the film’s subjects. Roman and Nyro, just 9 years old at the time, had never before been interviewed about being in a two-dad family.

In order to bring the film to a wider audience, Desmond Child and company are requesting funds for a worldwide theatrical distribution and to aid in generating promotional tools to help market the documentary’s release. With your pledges, you will be helping spread the film’s message of love and equality throughout the world. Several great rewards are being offered in exchange for your support, including rare memorabilia from Desmond Child’s Hall of Fame music career as well as an opportunity to become an honorary executive producer of the film and to meet the cast at a screening of your choice.
