Details on Helix frontman Brian Vollmer’s new solo album ‘Get Yer Hands Dirty’

Helix singer Brian Vollmer has released details for his upcoming solo album Get Yer Hands Dirty including the track list and which will feature a guest appearance from Danko Jones.

The following message was posted on Vollmer‘s Facebook page yesterday:

“Coming soon! In the next week we’ll be taking advance orders for GET YER HANDS DIRTY on the Merch section of the Helix web site for both vinyl and CD. Got some great players on this disc, including Danko Jones, who sang lead vocals with me on the first track GET YER HANDS DIRTY. The disc was produced by Juno Award winning Gavin Brown, who also drummed on the tracks. As well, Sean Kelly rips it up on guitar, Daryl Gray holds down the fort on the bass, Matt Weidinger channels the ghost of Leon Russell on keyboards, and Cheryl Lescom kicks ass until it’s blue.”

Track List for Get Yer Hands Dirty:
01. Buffs Bar Blues
02. Rock ‘n’ Roll Outlaw
03. If You Need Me
04. When The Bitter’s Got The Better Of You
05. Superlungs
06. Rock ‘n’ Roll
07. Don’t Try To Lay No Boogie Woogie On The King Of Rock And Roll
08. Gudbye ‘T’ Jane
09. Oh Well
10. Get Yer Hands Dirty

In an interview with Sleaze Roxx back in February 2017, Vollmer stated as follows about the cover songs that will be on his upcoming solo album: “Well, there not going to be the most obvious ones, that’s for sure. They are going to be… I have always been under the auspice that if you’re going to do a cover song, you’ve got to do it better or at least as good as the people that originally did it. I also like the idea of picking songs that weren’t necessarily real obvious tracks to cover. I am probably going to do Long John Baldry’s “Don’t Try To Lay No Boogie-Woogie On The King Of Rock And Roll.” Another song that I am looking at is “Super Lungs” by Terry Reid.”
