Donnie Vie along with special guests The Midnight Devils to tour Australia for the first time
Former Enuff Z’Nuff frontman Donnie Vie along with special guests The Midnight Devils will be embarking on an eight-date tour of Australia from June 29th to July 8th, 2023. This will be the first time that both Vie and The Midnight Devils tour in Australia. The group released its sophomore album Never Beg For It via Pavement Entertainment back on July 1, 2022.
Speaking exclusively to Sleaze Roxx, The Midnight Devils frontman Sam “Spade” Morris indicated: “We did over 150 shows around the world in support of this album including a 30 day tour of Europe across 10 countries in November / December. Following Australia, we will be doing a US headlining tour, then a return trip to Europe in the fall with Pretty Boy Floyd. Over the last two years, we have played shows all over the US from coast to coast supporting bands like Yngwie Malmsteen, the BulletBoys, Lit, Sponge, Enuff Z’Nuff, and Pretty Boy Floyd. We’ve played at legendary venues like the Whisky A Go-Go in LA, Rockfest in Cadott, Wisconsin, and Rocklahoma in Pryor, Oklahoma.
Sleaze Roxx stated the following in its review of Never Beg For It: “The production is crystal clear and the band members are tight in a sleazy, shambolic way. Jimmy Mess is as solid a drummer as you will hear and the aforementioned Sniper is practically faultless throughout. Sam “Spade” Morris‘ bourbon soaked vocals enhance the proceedings immensely, though — at times and on certain tracks, it seems a little repetitive and lacking in variety. That being said, this is an extremely minor quibble. Even if there are two or three tracks that will employ the skip button for me, this is still on the whole a fine, sleazy album with mainly memorable, chorus driven songs in the finest spirit of the genre. It’s absolutely perfect for that late night road trip return from seeing them live and with the window down!”
