Doro planning on releasing Warlock live album
Warlock frontroman Doro Pesch was recently interviewed by Jimmy Kay for Canada’s The Metal Voice and spoke about her upcoming co-headlining tour with Metal Church throughout the United States of America from April 17th to May 11th.
It was advertised that Doro will be playing a “best of” Warlock songs during that tour as the press release indicated: “Fans can expect a “Best Of” Warlock show with all the highlights from the 80’s, when Warlock conquered the metal world with smash hits like “All We Are”, “Rule The Ruins”, “When East Meets West”, “Für Immer” and their famous album Triumph & Agony.”
In her interview with The Metal Voice, Doro advised (as transcribed by The Metal Voice with slight edits): “We are planning on recording a Warlock live album on the upcoming tour. It’s in the making. It’s not done yet.”
Wikipedia states the following in part about Warlock: “Warlock were a German heavy metal band, founded in 1982 with members of the underground bands Snakebite and Beast. The band gained popularity and some commercial success in Europe in the mid-1980s, due also to the personality and stage presence of lead vocalist Doro Pesch. Warlock supported on tour successful heavy metal bands, such as W.A.S.P., Judas Priest, Dio and Megadeth.
By the end of the decade, Doro Pesch was the sole original member who remained in the band and she was forced to change the name to Doro for legal reasons. Doro, the band, continues to play several songs taken from the Warlock repertoire in their live shows.
The band has reunited for festival appearances and special occasions since 2003, under the name Warlock 1986.”
