EDDIE VAN HALEN GOES CLUBBING WITH TIGER WOODS:

April 21, 2008

Eddie Van Halen and Tiger Woods were clubbing on the weekend. Van Halen played at the Tiger Jam XI in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The fundraising event raised more than $1.5 million for the Tiger Woods Foundation.

The members of Van Halen donated $200,000 to the charity. David Lee Roth personally gave $100,000 while the Van Halens, Eddie, brother Alex and son Wolfgang also gave $100,000 as well as an autographed Eddie Van Halen Frankenstien replica guitar for an auction.

Van Halen played their hit driven two hour set at the show. Roth was pure performer but never a sportsman. Appearing wearing golf gloves he told the audience, can’t play golf for shit, but I can wear these gloves as good as any of the pros in here tonight!”

Tiger Woods started the foundation in 1998. The Tiger Jams have raised more than $11 million over the years. The charity has supported Child Haven, Center for Independent Living, Greater Las Vegas Inner City Games, Boys & Girls Club of Las Vegas, UNLV Women’s Athletics, GRAMMY in the Schools and The VH1 Save the Music Foundation.
