Although there have been some recent photos posted of Van Halen guitarist Eddie Van Halen smiling, and even attending a Tool concert, TMZ has reported that the guitarist was just released from a hospital on Sunday (November 17, 2019) following some complications from his cancer treatment.
The following is an excerpt from the TMZ article from earlier today
“Sources close to the legendary guitarist tell TMZ … he was admitted to the hospital last week with intestinal issues and abdominal pain. We’re told both were the result of a bad reaction to the drugs Eddie is taking to battle throat cancer.
He was released Sunday and we’re told he’s doing fine now.”

TMZ was the first to report that Eddie Van Halen had been flying to Germany for the last five years to get radiation treatment to battle throat cancer.
Back in late October 2019, Eddie Van Halen‘s son Wolfgang Van Halen posted a number of family photos on his Facebook account depicting himself smiling with his father Eddie and his mother Valerie Bertinelli in what appeared to be an attempt to show that his father was doing well despite many negative reports in that regard.
