EX-KISS DRUMMER PETER CRISS HAD CANCER
October 11, 2009
Former Kiss drummer Peter Criss has announced he had been battling with breast cancer but has now been given the all clear.
In a statement at his official website, Criss says, “In ’08, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but with (early detection) my great doctor Alex Swistel & staff and the Lord above, who always looks over me, I am cancer free today.”
As it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Criss wanted to speak up and state that breast cancer is something men also get. “I wanted to let you know men get it like women do,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to let someone know if you have a lump. Do the right thing for you and your loved ones and get it checked. Man or woman, there is no discrimination with breast cancer … we all don’t have nine lives”.
Kiss have just released ‘Sonic Boom’, their first studio album in 11 years. Criss. Criss left the band in 2000, rejoined in 2004 and appears on the Kiss Symphony: Alive IV’ DVD. He left the band permanently in 2006.
