Femme Fatale Announce All Female Line-Up

January 18, 2013

Vocalist Lorraine Lewis has resurrected the Femme Fatale moniker, and living up to the band’s name has surrounded herself with female musicians this time around. Joining Lewis are guitarists Nita Strauss (Consume The Fire, the Iron Maidens) and Courtney Cox (The Iron Maidens), bassist Janis Tanaka (Fireball Ministry, L7), keyboardist Katt Scarlett and drummers Rachael Rine and Athena Lee (sister to Motley Crue’s Tommy Lee).

The band is currently rehearsing for their appearance on the Monsters Of Rock Cruise, taking place March 16 to 20th, and are writing for a brand new studio album.

Lewis was recently interviewed on Ron Keel’s Streets Of Rock & Roll Radio Show and stated, “I have decided for 2013 to put a whole new line-up together. We lost our guitar player Bill D’Angelo about five years ago, he passed away, and all of the boys since then are doing different things. I just thought, you know what, I just want to do the all-girl thing. So I have a hot line-up of all chicks and I’m very excited”

Regarding new music Lewis continued, “We’ve been working on some new riffs. Courtney’s been bringing riffs to rehearsals but my primary focus right now is making sure that the songs on the ‘Femme Fatale’ CD sound really crushing. Years ago I sang a song on the ‘Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead’ soundtrack, a song called “Chains”, so we’ve added that to the set as well and then a couple of other surprises that people are going to dig.”

Femme Fatale’s 1988 self-titled release, produced by Jim Faraci and Tom Werman for MCA Records, reached #141 on the Billboard charts and spawned two unforgettable breakout videos — “Waiting For The Big One” and “Fallin’ In And Out Of Love”. Femme Fatale is known for their mega-watt performances, have toured across the country and overseas and weres the center focus for some of heavy metal’s top selling magazines.
