Former Godz Bassist Releases Video With New Band Hillbilly Hotrodz
August 15, 2013
Hillbilly Hotrodz, featuring The Godz alumni Bub Adams, have released a music video for the single “Hillbilly Hotrod”. Bub Adams joined The Godz as bassist in 2001 and performed with the legendary Eric Moore fronted group until his departure in 2010.
The Ohio based Hillbilly Hotrodz was formed in November of 2011 when Johnny Grubaugh (formerly of Witch Way, Kid Wicked, Strutter) ran into Bub Adams (also of Midnight Heat, Deja Vudoo) at a concert and recruited him to play bass for a hard-hitting, original rock band he had been working up material for. After trying several drummers, the pair eventually found Johno Benedik (formerly of Dark Age, Rattle Bratt, Strawberry) through a mutual friend.
Within a few weeks the trio had rehearsed a set of nine, Grubaugh-penned, songs and secured a prestigious opening slot for Tim Ripper Owens at his Tap House. The band was very well recieved at their debut and decided to record the songs for a self-titled CD that was released in late 2012.
