Former Lust Boys Members Return As The Toxiks
Former Lust Boys Members Return As The Toxiks
April 29, 2013
While the Lust Boys write new music and continue in their search for a vocalist, former frontman Jayme Black has launched his own band named The Toxiks.
In late 2012, shortly after the release of the Lust Boys’ critically acclaimed album ‘Tall Glasses And Short Skirts’, Jayme Black and guitarist Brian C, unsatisfied by the musical direction of Lust Boys, started creating songs with the help of former Static In The Stars guitarist Joe Mcleod to make “songs that cut like a straight razor but have relevance and truth” — with a broad range of influences, a “no holes barred” approach to writing, and a no bullshit atmosphere. Currently The Toxiks have two released tracks, “New Horizon” and “No Rest For The Wicked”, with numerous demos and ideas in the works for a late summer EP release.
Working with musicians that they have met in travels, The Toxiks’ door is always open for collaboration and keeps a “music first” attitude. Mind you the whiskey, wine, and cigarettes are still a major part of the creative process.
The Toxiks are currently making their two new recordings available as a free download at www.facebook.com/thetoxiks.
