Sadly, Thundermother‘s line-up of guitarist Filippa Nässil, lead vocalist Guernica Mancini, drummer Emlee Johansson and bassist Mona Lindgren imploded last month. While Nässil didn’t provide any details on why this was occurring, the three others revealed that the guitarist wanted to get rid of Mancini and rather than support that decision, Johansson and Lindgren decided to join forces with Mancini in a new group, which has since been announced as The Gems.

Mancini and Johansson played on Thundermother‘s last three studio albums, Thundermother (2018), Heat Wave (2020) nd Black And Gold (2022), while Lindgren played on that group’s last record. The trio has forged ahead at a rapid pace as The Gems since their departure from Thundermother. They have posted videos of themselves recording new material and have recently announced their reunion with Thomas “Plec” Johansson who produced the album Thundermother.

The following message was posted on Thundermother‘s Facebook page two days ago:

“Reunion with the wonderful @thepanicroomstudio aka Plec.🤩

He produced the album Thundermother and wrote the song we fight for rock n roll.

A true legend! 🥰🔥

The Gems will be releasing their debut single “Phoenix” new month.
