Geezer Butler Says There Will Be No Black Sabbath Reunion
February 17, 2011
Geezer Butler wants you to know there will be no Black Sabbath reunion in the near feature, live on stage or on disc.
Rumors that bassist Butler, along with Sabbath vets Tony Iommi and Bill Ward would reunite with Ozzy Osbourne for a tour and new album have been circulating since last month when Osbourne told ABC News Radio that he and his former bandmates were “in the talking process.”
But talk or no talk, Butler says it ain’t in the cards. Actually, he’s been saying that for the past few days. But it’s hard to give up on a good rumor and whispers that Ozzy was getting the band back together for another go at it are hard to resist.
“I would like to make it clear, because of mounting speculation and rumours, there will be definitely no reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour,” Butler said in a statement.
Butler’s most recent band was Heaven And Hell, which included Iommi and Vinny Appice as well as former Black Sabbath vocalist Ronnie James Dio, who passed away in May 2010.
