Gene Simmons abandons application for trademark of “devil’s horn” hand signal
After causing quite a stir by filing an application to trademark the infamous “devil’s horn” hand gesture, KISS co-founder, bassist and singer Gene Simmons has apparently abandoned his application. No reasons appear to have been provided but it could well have been just a publicity stunt from Simmons who isn’t seemingly shy about being in the public limelight.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office‘s website indicates the following status for Simmons’ application:
“DEAD/APPLICATION/Withdrawn/Abandoned
The owner of the trademark application withdrew (e.g. abandoned) the application and the application is no longer active.
Abandoned because the applicant filed an express abandonment. To view all documents in this file, click on the Trademark Document Retrieval link at the top of this page.”
