Ginger Wildheart was reportedly dead for eight minutes and on life support for next 36 hours

Close call? Former The Quireboys guitarist and The Wildhearts frontman Ginger Wildheart was apparently pronounced dead for eight minutes and then placed on life support for 36 hours.

The following message was posted on Ginger Wildheart‘s Facebook page back on September 10, 2018:

Ginger is sad to announce the postponement of upcoming September shows on doctors order. This is due to an ongoing issue with Ginger‘s larynx, in particular, his vocal fold nodules that may require surgery. A period of rest and recovery is required in order to prevent any further damage and ensure his voice is maintained. We can only apologise to the fans wishing to see Ginger this month. Any rescheduled dates will be announced shortly, but are subject to venue availability. If you are unable to attend or wish to obtain a refund, please contact the point of purchase.”

Ginger Wildheart‘s Twitter page stated the following yesterday:

“Wow, hard to believe that little over two weeks ago I was dead for 8 minutes, and on life support for a following 36 hours. Apart from numbness down one side, and no voice, I’m in good health. Massive thanks for all that have supported me. Finally feeling grateful for my life”

Back in August 2017, it was announced that Ginger Wildheart hadĀ attempted suicide while detained in an Ireland jail for allegedly getting into an altercation with a fan at one of his shows. The singer/guitarist was subsequently placed under around the clock hospital care due to mental health issues.
