Guitarist Birk parts ways with Junkyard Drive

Danish rockers Junkyard Drive have lost one of their guitarists as axe slinger Birk has elected to leave the band. Birk has played on Junkyard Drive‘s three albums, the Junkyard Luxury EP (2014), Sin & Tonic (2017) and Black Coffee (2018). Back in April 2019, Junkyard Drive announced the departure of bassist Tim Meldad from the band.

The following message was posted in part on Junkyard Drive‘s Facebook page earlier today:

“Unfortunately, we have some sad news for you today.

Due to personal reasons, Birk has now chosen to leave Junkyard Drive.

Birk has been a part of Junkyard Drive since day one, and we’ve had so many great times together!

We wish Birk good luck in the future, and we all hope to see him soon, rocking the stage in new projects.

Birk says: “To leave Junkyard Drive, is one of the hardest choices I’ve ever had to make since I started the band 5 years ago, and it’s been a big part of my life.

This is a decision I have made to remain happy in my life. I wish Junkyard Drive continues to write music and play concerts without me.”

Birk will be doing his 2 last shows in december the 20th and 21st, which we will be the final shows of the EU-tour with Eclipse.

Junkyard Drive will of course continue making music, doing shows and keep on keeping on
