Guitarist Chris Impellitteri shares funny story about recording with Ronnie James Dio
Guitar virtuoso Chris Impellitteri recently shared a funny story about recording with the one and only Ronnie James Dio.
The following message was posted on Chris Impellitteri‘s Facebook page yesterday (with slight edits):
“Funny Ronnie James Dio and Impelliteri story…..many years ago I was recording a guitar solo at Sound City recording Studio’s… I must have played the same solo for about two hours trying to perfect it……when I walked out of the tracking room I found Ronnie playing pinball next to my wall of blasting loud Marshall amps….. Ronnie had managed to play pinball the whole time I was playing the same solo over and over again….I must have driven him insane! … but afterward he told me he thought I played the guitar solo perfectly the first time.. ha ha!! #impellitteri #dio #soundcityrecordingstudio”
Wikipedia summarizes Chris Impellitteri‘s biography as follows (with slight edits): “Chris Impellitteri (born September 25, 1964) is the lead guitarist and founder of the heavy metal band Impellitteri. In 2008, Guitar World magazine named Chris Impellitteri as one of the fastest guitarists of all time. In 2003, Guitar One Magazine voted Chris Impellitteri the 2nd fastest guitar shredder of all time, behind only Michael Angelo Batio; Yngwie Malmsteen was dubbed the 3rd fastest shredder.”
