Guitarist Erik Ferentinos states new Stephen Pearcy solo album will hopefully be ready by summer 2021
Erik Ferentinos, who has played guitar for many years on Ratt frontman Stephen Pearcy‘s solo albums, was recently interviewed by All Music/All Bands. Pearcy has released the following solo albums to date: Social Intercourse (2002), Fueler (2004), Under My Skin (2008), Smash (2017) and View To A Thrill (2018).
In terms of the next Stephen Pearcy solo album, Ferentinos indicated: “Stephen and I started working on his new solo record late last year. He is currently getting a deal together to release that. He also mentioned something about a best of compilation. I’m sure he will give us some updates soon.” With respect to the writing process for the album, Ferentinos stated: “He and I are usually the two main song writers. I’ll usually write and arrange the song compositions and then he writes his vocals to it.”
In regard to the musical direction for the next Pearcy solo album, Ferentinos advised: “The new record will have the 80’s rock sound that fans have come to expect from us with a few surprises thrown in for good measure!” The guitarist added: “There are some heavy bangers on there that the Ratt fans will love. I try to keep it edgy but I want us to have a hit. I’m always trying to top what we’ve done so far with catchier riffs and melodies to get more fans interested in our music.” With respect to when the album will be ready for release, Ferentinos indicated: “Hopefully by summer of 2021.”
Pearcy released a new solo single titled “All That I Want” earlier this year to which Ferentinos indicated: “That was one of the song ideas for the new record. Stephen cut vocals for the demo in January. He liked it so much, he decided to put it out for everyone to hear. He felt the fans needed an uplifting song to cheer them up. It got a great response and everyone seemed to dig it!”
