Guitarist Sean Kelly writing new book on ‘hair metal’ 

Lee Aaron, Trapper and Crash Kelly guitarist Sean Kelly is currently writing a new book for ECW Press tentatively titled Hair Metal for Hipsters: Reclaiming the Art in the Excess of 80s Rock and slated for a spring 2023 release.

Kelly previously authored the well-received book Metal On Ice: Tales from Canada’s Hard Rock and Heavy Metal Heroes, which was released back in 2013.

The following message was posted on Kelly‘s Facebook page earlier today:

“I’ve been writing a new book for ECW Press, slated for a Spring 2023 release, and this weekend I start the interview process. The book is tentatively titled Hair Metal for Hipsters : Reclaiming the Art in the Excess of 80s Rock. I’m 85,000 words into this thing, and definitely looking forward to some other voices. One of the things I’ve come to recognize as I’ve worked on this is how an understanding of the people and motivations behind the music can affect the way I hear the final product. To that end, I am anxious to hear from people who were living the music that ultimately helped shape me and so many other music fans!”
