Guns N’ Roses Fans Riot After Scrapped Show

March 15, 2010

Rockers Guns N’ Roses sparked a riot among rich concertgoers on Friday, after a private show in Brazil was scrapped at the last minute.

Frontman Axl Rose and his band were set to perform in front of an A-list crowd at an exclusive Sao Paulo club concert, hosted by supermodel Ana Beatriz Barros.

According to the New York Post, angry fans waited hours for the band to take to the stage – and when the revellers were told the band would not play at 3 a.m. local time, the crowd descended into mayhem.

A source says, “The audience got angry and started to mount the stage, and fight and destroy everything. It was wild. There were fights everywhere, on the dance floor, in the bathrooms, outside the club. Crazy. I guess the free drinks didn’t help.”

Guns N’ Roses is currently playing an 11-date tour in South America, which will also take the rockers to Ecuador, Uruguay, Chile, Peru, Venezuela and Colombia.

On Wednesday, more than 100 Metallica fans were arrested after violence erupted outside a concert venue in Bogata, Colombia, forcing the band to bring in extra security for the rest of its South American trek.
