Guns N’ Roses Pull Show
GUNS N’ROSES PULL SHOW:
Police were called to a Guns N’Roses show in Philadelphia after the band failed to perform.
The group were due to play at the Philadelphia First Union Center last night (December 6).
However, according to the local Philadelphia Daily News newspaper, the group did not appear – citing bandmember illness as the reason.
Eyewitnesses claim that after DJ Mixmaster Mike finished his support set, there was a delay. At 11.15pm, fans were informed that the headline band would not be appearing.
Police were on hand at the venue and claimed the crowd became unruly after hearing that the show was not going ahead. Although there were no arrests, officers said two people were hospitalised.
Peter Luukko, who works for the company who own and operate the venue, told the paper: “It’s very simple. We were informed Axl was ill and wasn’t going to appear in the building, and we made an announcement. We emptied the facility and everybody went home…damage was minimal.”
Guns N’Roses are currently on a massive North American tour, which is set to run into 2003.
