Gypsy Pistoleros share video for latest single “What’s It Like To Be A Girl?”
Gypsy Pistoleros consisting of lead vocalist Gypsy Lee Pistolero, guitarist Shane Pistolero Sparkz, bassist Kerry Pistolero White and drummer Crag Pistolero Shape have unveiled a video for their new single “What’s It Like To Be A Girl?” from their upcoming album Duende A Go Go..Loco, which will be released via Earache Records on November 3, 2023.
The group’s website indicates in part (with slight edits):
“Gypsy Pistoleros are “The World’s Greatest Flamenco Punk Glam Rock Band Ever!” They are touring throughout the year to promote the next three singles and album! They have also just signed to SD Entertainment Booking Agents (sdentertainment.co.uk).
Gypsy Pistoleros are still something utterly unique and interesting in today’s predictable musical landscape. The sound is flamenco in a head on collision with punk/rock riffs, pounding bass and thrashing drums.
The songs span madly in the best rock ‘n’ roll tradition with big hooks, attitude, and sleaze. Yet those flamenco breaks got into your head and refused to leave – this hybrid rocks.
“Duende A Go Go Loco“, the new album, is going to be hailed as the band’s masterpiece; an album that brings together all facets of this unique mongrel offspring of fiery flamenco passion and gritty gutter glam punk. The Gypsy Pistoleros defy the rules, born roaming somewhere between Zaragoza and Worcester, brought into the world to a soundtrack stack-heeled anthems of sleazy ‘70s Glam.
The Gypsy Pistoleros have always had a wild rock n roll reputation and played five Rocklahoma festivals 2007-11, in Oklahoma, USA, where they appeared alongside Mötley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses, Poison, ZZ Top, Twisted Sister, Faster Pussycat, Vain, Papa Roach, Whitesnake, Skid Row, Black Label Society, everyone. Normally closing each night!
They have toured extensively, playing with the likes of L.A. Guns, Faster Pussycat, Adler’s Appetite, UFO, Motörhead, Ratt, Dogs D’Amour, Dirty Penny, Bang Tango, Wrathchild, Vains of Jenna, Twisted Sister, Poison, Vince Neil, Bang Tango, Skid Row, Slaughter, Dokken and ZZ Top.
Upon returning to music in 2020 after a ten-year break (Theatre, Drama degree, film career), a clean and now 4 years sober Gypsy Lee Pistolero, went about reinventing the band, by forming a real gang from Worcester. Ditching the past L.A Guns support band tag and fully becoming the Greatest Flamenco Punk Glam Rock band ever!
The legend Dave Draper (The Wildhearts) plays all guitar on studio recordings! Live, it features new showman of a guitarist Shane Pistolero Sparkz and the total powerhouse rhythm section of Kerry White (bass, from the Suzi Quatro School of Bass) and the hard hitting, whirlwind that is Craig Sharpe (drums).
The only rule musically, was that there are no rules. Straight back into the limelight, the band signed a ‘Greatest hits‘ album deal release with Golden Robot Records, then released the Latin, mariachi flavoured ‘The Mescalito Vampires‘ after moving to Off Yer Rocka Records. The new album will be released through the mighty Earache Records.
Debuting at Lakefest 2021 Festival headlining the BBC Introducing stage, they then went on to appear on the main stages at Hard Rock Hell Sleaze Fest and Hard Rock Hell, this year saw a full headlining U.K Tour after a return to HRH Sleaze (Michael Monroe, Hardcore Superstar, Crazy Lixx) and in November, a show stealing Hard Rock Hell Fest return alongside The Darkness, Skid Row, Ugly Kid Joe, a fantastic reception at Planet Rock Winters’s End! 2023, then another storming show at HRH AOR Fest alongside Crashdïet and Reckless Love. The rest of the year will see a step up to the next level in every respect. Watch this space!
The new album ‘Duende A Go Go..Loco’ has been recorded, mixed and produced by fast-rising legend Dave Draper (The Wildhearts, Nickelback, Kerbdog, Terrorvision, The Professionals) at The Old Cider Press Studios, Pershore. So it’s on a different level! The next single “What’s It Like To Be A Girl?” is due for release in June (plus video) and the full album Digital/CD & Vinyl will be out in November through Earache.”
