Helix Posts Video Of ‘Smash Hits Unplugged’ Sessions

October 18, 2010

Video footage of Helix recording ‘Smash Hits Unplugged’, the Canadian band’s upcoming acoustic album, have been posted online.

Vocalist Brian Vollmer says, “This week we finished off the recording for ‘Smash Hits Unplugged’. The last things to be recorded were Kaleb Duck’s end leads on Deep Cuts the Knife and Wild in the Streets and Cheryl Lescom’s backing vocals on The Kids Are All Shakin’.

Everyone is excited at the result. We hope to have everything mixed by Wednesday at the latest, as the CD then has to go to Toronto to be mastered. While the recording has been going on, Matt from Baby Jack Design (the same company that put together the Vagabond Bones cover) has been working on the ‘Smash Hits Unplugged’ cover. We have several companies looking at distributing this disc, hopefully one that will get us into Canadian Walmart stores.”

‘Smash Hits Unplugged’ features the Helix classics Rock You, Heavy Metal Love, Gimme Gimme Good Lovin’, Make Me Do (Anything You Want), Wild in the Streets/No Rest for the Wicked, Deep Cuts the Knife, The Kids Are All Shakin’, Dream On, That Day is Gonna Come, Dream On, Good To The Last Drop and a cover of James Leroy’s A Touch of Magic. The CD is being produced by Sean Kelly (who also guests on guitar), Aaron Murray, and Brian Vollmer.
