Icon To Play First Live Show In 18 Years

October 16, 2008

Legendary Phoenix rock band ICON will be performing as special guests in front of Tesla on Saturday, November 29th at the Dodge Theater in Phoenix Arizona. Tickets go on sale this Monday, October 20th at 10 am at www.livenation.com, the Dodge Theatre box office and all Ticketmaster locations.

This will be the band’s first performance since regrouping earlier this year; and their first performance since 1990. Since the release of their debut record “ICON” in 1984, the group has sustained a committed and fanatical fan-base that still thrives to this day. ICON claimed international recognition with their follow-up release “Night of Crime” in 1985, voted 3rd best record of all time by Kerrang magazine’s readers’ poll in 1988.

The band’s lineup consists of original members Dan Wexler (guitar), John Aquilino (guitar), Pat Dixon (drums) alongside new members Scott Hammons (lead vocals) and Ken Geraghty (bass).

Earlier this year, ICON, in conjunction with Epicenter Multimedia, released ‘ICON – 1984: Live Bootleg’ for the first time on DVD. This enhanced multimedia disc features interviews with Dan Wexler and John Aquilino and contains live footage of one of the last concerts with the complete original ICON lineup of Stephen Clifford, Dan Wexler, John Aquilino, Tracy Wallach and Pat Dixon. The band performs in front of a sold out crowd in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1984. This is the only known footage of an entire concert by the original band.
